Building Empathy (new!)
Time: 90 minutes (ideal for kids grade 3+)
Cost: $12/child (minimum 15) or $250/class of 25.
Each child receives a bag of Lego building blocks with approximately 50 random assorted pieces. Working in peer groups of 3-4 we explore a series of questions that help kids learn to have empathetic conversations. For example one question might be “Build something that represents your unique super power” or “Why is your class better with you in it?” The kids build models for 5 minutes to answer the question then share with their group. Peers are encouraged to use active listening skills and ask good questions to show interest in their friend’s answer. We average 3 questions per hour with groups as large as 25-30 kids. Questions can be tailored to recent topics or social challenges that interest the group.
